This is an incremental program tailored to nurture essential life skills in children, over and above computer skills, so as to enhance wholistic personal development in a child. Informal learning is one of the most treasured methods of transferring knowledge. Actually, only a fraction of the formal learning is taken seriously by the learner while the rest is taken up in the informal setup especially peer pressure. This program is therefore geared to consciously help children appreciate the need for and acquire:-
1.Self confidence
2.Self Awareness (so that they do not suffer from an identity crisis)
3.Positive self-image/self esteem
4.Decision making Skills including problem solving skills, conflict diffusion skills, creative thinking and critical thinking
5.Assertive and Effective Communication
6.Good interpersonal relationship skills with parents, teachers, peers and others
7.Good study skills
8.Essential first aid skills and health awareness
9.Positive thinking……among others.
What is Unique about Chipukizi
In addition to the above-mentioned skills, the child will:-
1.Learn about the 7 Habits of Highly Effective People and how to apply them in daily life
2.Learn how to be more goal oriented in life-critical decisions
3.Appreciate their strengths and opportunities and know how to make use of them and also appreciate their weaknesses and how to change them.
4.Learn the importance of respect for others, self-discipline and accountability for their own actions
Chipukizi Motto: Achieving My Peak & Leadership Excellence (AMPLE)
Who Is Chipukizi For?
Children aged 7 - 9 years old attend the Junior Camp while those aged 10-13 years old attend the Senior Camp.
A child progresses from one level to the next every time they come for a holiday session.
Is My Child Safe?
We understand the sensitivity of the ages we are dealing with and hence have made several arrangements to address possible concerns from parents as follow:-
a.The children will first be assembled in an IAT Loita room under their trainers supervision as they await their bus shuttled
b.They shall always travel with a trainer and qualified first-aider on board
c.Class sessions will have more than one trainer sitting in for personalized attention
d.Outdoor activities will be supervised by both the trainer and first-aider
e.The children will be in secure premises at IAT Thika Rd Campus, (former Augustana College at Kasarani).
We are greatly honoured to be entrusted with the responsibility of moulding your child. We look forward to a long-term mentoring relationship with your child and it is our hope that we shall develop “The Leader in your Child”.
