CERTIFICATE IN BUSINESS INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY

The Certificate in Business Information Technology (CBIT) Program is a program developed and offered by the Institute of Advanced Technology (IAT). The program is approved by the IAT academic board.

The Certificate in Business Information Technology Program introduces the fundamental concepts and practices of business management and IT as preparation for a rewarding business/IT career or advanced study. This course offers such areas as; Introduction to Fundamentals of Business Management, Communication Skills, Business Mathematics, Principles & Practice of Selling and Computer Applications.

On successful completion of the Certificate in Business Information Technology Program with Credit or above one is eligible to join the IAT Diploma in Business Administration and Management (DBA) or Diploma in Business & ICT (DBICT).

OBJECTIVES

The objectives of the CBIT are to equip certificate holders with:

* Appropriate knowledge, skills and research abilities to pursue further studies in business and IT areas

* Appropriate preparation for employment at entry level business or IT positions in corporate and SME world

* Skills that will add business value by effectively applying the business and IT skills learnt in business and IT organizations.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

To be eligible for the admission into the Certificate in Business Information Technology (CBIT), a candidate must satisfy any ONE of the following academic qualifications:

* An aggregate grade of D+ (D PLUS) in K.C.S.E.

* Division Four (4) in O-Level

* Any other equivalent qualifications approved by the IAT Academic Board.

DURATION

The duration for this programme shall normally be four (4) months or one semester inclusive of examinations. One semester is equivalent to fifteen continuous weeks.
