The course provides candidates with: understanding and knowledge of networking fundamentals including the Open Systems Interconnect (OSI) seven-layer model concepts, technologies and basic skills to configure a Cisco IOS router for network connectivity.
GENERAL COURSE OUTLINE The participants should be able to: - - Classify devices and their function layer in the OSI model, the purpose, use, structure, and definitions of the OSI layers Construct a point-to-point Ethernet LAN.
- Show sequence of steps used by IP addresses.
- Solve Ethernet networking issues using switched LAN technology.
- Identify specific Ethernet network interface (for e.g., EO, EI) by which a packet is forwarded on an Ethernet LAN.
- Construct a topology and network addressing scheme etc.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND: Those who wish to gain the CCNA certification.
PRE-REQUISITES: - ICDL or equivalent
- Basic knowledge of PC configurations (USP, NSS)
DURATION: 60 hours of study, conducted in 2 hours a day for 6 weeks.
CERTIFICATION: The course prepares candidate for the CCNA exam: Exam No: 640-802.
NB: CCNA certifications are valid for three years.
